Article Abstract:

A proposed very high speed train (VHST) system between Sydney and Canberra, AU, will impact train networks throughout the country. The VHST system would create opportunities to expand the network to include Melbourne and Brisbane. It would also take much of the train transportation business away from government and into private operators.
