Rebels with a cause

Article Abstract:

Iraq's Kurds who have always waged war against the establishment are in no mood to relent and many openly say that if and when the Kurds pull out of the government they are ready to go to the mountains and fight the new government. With ethnic disputes intensifying in Iraq it may not be long before the Kurds pull out of government plunging the region into another round of conflicts and even though the interim Prime Minister is sympathetic to their problems there is very little he can do to allay their fears.

Action stations

Article Abstract:

Television networks are already in Kuwait to jockey for a good position from which to cover the US military action against Iraq when it begins. Among other competitive actions are the building of different height platforms by European Broadcasting Union and APTN, CBS News, NBC, ABC, and CNN, to get the best pictures over Kuwaiti air space. Coverage of the impending conflict will be expensive, despite the likelihood of strong ratings.
