Regulator quits over difference of opinion

Article Abstract:

The head of a coalition of Canada's securities regulatory bodies, Douglas Hyndman, has resigned. Mr. Hyndman, who had found it impossible to overcome differences between the securities commissions, has been replaced as chairman of the Canadian Securities Administration by Stephen Sibold.

Stymiest slams OSC proposals

Barbara Stymiest, the president of the Toronto Stock Exchange, said that corporate governance and securities industry reforms must draw a clear and relevant distinction between small and large companies. Reform proposals have been introduced by the Ontario Securities Commission.
