Citywide sellouts is a term for nights when business travelers are unable to find hotel rooms in major US cities. This occurrence is becoming more frequent as hotel occupanies are escalating in the business centers of major cities. Stranded fliers a boon for hotels

Article Abstract:

Airport hotels are benefiting from the holiday period. They have been booked solid with displaced passengers and crew during the holidays that would normally leave them empty. This development has been triggered by airlines that are trying to cope with snow, ice, labor troubles and hundreds of canceled flights. Stranded passengers doubled the occupancy of the Marriott at Dallas/Fort Worth airport but a lot of empty rooms still remained due to the shortage of holiday staffs.
