Subjective fatigue, influencing variables, and consequences in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Article Abstract:

The objective of testing a theoretically and empirically supported model of the relationships among subjective fatigue, functional performance, anxious and depressed moods and sleep quality in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is presented. In a study conducted on people with moderate to severe COPD, reports indicate moderate amount of fatigue in participants, which is situation-specific and is responsive to rest and sleep.

Treatments of coronary artery disease improve quality of life in the long term

Article Abstract:

Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and its changes during 8 years of follow up after a treatment intervention is measured. It is concluded that CAD patients' HRQoL improves 8 years after bypass or angioplasty, but an increase in the need for the treatment and primary and secondary prevention of CAD is felt in the days to come.

Influence of a computer intervention on the psychological status of chronically ill rural woman

Article Abstract:

The effects of a computer-delivered intervention on measures of psychosocial health in chronically ill rural women including social support, self-esteem, empowerment, self-efficacy, depression, loneliness and stress are examined. Women who participated in the computer-delivered intervention appeared to improve more than women in the control group.
