Surviving the horror: a cocktail of antibodies helps patients overpower flesh-eating disease

Article Abstract:

Doctors are treating rare but often fatal flesh-eating diseases caused by group A streptococcus with a mixture of antibodies called intravenous immunoglobulin. The diseases include necrotizing faciitis, streptococcal toxic shock syndrome and necrotizing myositis.
