Article Abstract:

Statistics reveal that 64% adult men and 47% adult women in Australia are either overweight or obese which is the main reason for hypertension, a condition in which the pressure exerted by the blood as it pumps through the arteries is consistently higher than normal. The causes for hypertension and the role of diet and exercising in reducing hypertension are discussed.
