Cooper Energy is on a current year multiple of less than 2.5 times earnings per share at a share price of 27 cents, while Samsung Oil and Gas, after taking control of a US affiliate, has increased its present value to 62 cents. Cooper assured reserves at high production rates until 2006, along with participation in 10 wells in 2005 while Samsung has taken control of US company Kestrel Energy Inc by giving an offer of five Samsung shares for one Kestrel.
