Article Abstract:

The Village of Port Fairy in far west Victoria has been transformed from a boring place where illegal bird poaching was the only interesting activity to a village hosting the annual Port Fairy Folk Festival. The stone-and-wood cottages of the 19th century in the village have been renovated by heritage lovers, and it has become the venue for the festival of music, merriment and guided tours for sightseers.

Article Abstract:

Bryce Courtenay, Australia's best-selling novelist, tells about his initial inhibition on accepting the offer from Penguin publishers to add some historical context to the book, ' An Anzac's Story'. Military historians are not happy with Courtenay's work, as the introduction and the annotations are littered with factual errors about one of Australia's iconic historical periods.
