The Hawke solution

Article Abstract:

There is a general recognition, including among most Israelis, that Palestinians are entitled to an independent state, but the political shell of a state lacking a viable economy is a reason for greater disaster. Howard's view: his millennium vision

Article Abstract:

Australian Prime Minister John Howard describes his vision for Australia in the 21st century, and comments on such issues as globalisation, the Australian hi-technology industry, trade alliances, and social programs. Australia's geographical isolation creates difficulties in forming trade alliances, but Australia's professional talent and excellent educational system provides a strong economic foundation. Information technology will continue to be important for economic growth.
