The battle for the web publishing market

Article Abstract:

The co-chairmen of Adobe Systems, Inc., John Warnock and Charles Geschke, hope to develop the same kind of design systems for World Wide Web site production that it did for desktop publishing. Adobe produced Postscript software, which translated digital information on a computer screen to a laser printer. Web tools in 1999 are in the early stage of development but offer unlimited opportunity to designers in a market that will be decided by consumer preferences.
