The folly of anti-scalping laws

Article Abstract:

Legalized scalping by licensing scalpers and concentrating the action in a designated area at event sites can control counterfeiting and nuisances. While scalping will remain an integral part of advance ticket sales for special events, competition and access to the open market will help reduce the bargaining aspect. But anti-scalping laws will still incur spectators' discontent over the scarcity of advance tickets and availability of tickets at higher prices. Schemes for ticket allocation and consumer behavior are discussed.

The celebrity counsel

Article Abstract:

William Ginsburg is enjoying the media attention he has received since becoming Monica Lewinsky's lawyer, but his strategy may not be in his client's best interest. His tactics have shifted from criticizing Pres Clinton to praising him and making accusations about Kenneth Starr. Starr could bring perjury charges against Lewinsky if Ginsburg antagonizes him.
