The decision to support the Howard government legislation that would increase the cost of essential pharmaceuticals led Mark Latham, the labor leader to concede that economics was more important than values. Latham was offering exposition of values rather than any firm position on how the government might actually govern.

Anzac daze: Next year's 90th anniversary of the historic landing will be a monumental affair

Article Abstract:

The 90th anniversary of the 1915 Allied landings, which will fall on 25 April 2005, has attracted many organizers. Many international leaders including the Australian Prime Minister John Howard may attend this annual gathering, where more than 20,000 Australians and New Zealanders will be present.
