Article Abstract:

Current issues concerning law enforcement measures used to solve the problem of controlled substances proliferation in the US are discussed. Efforts by the US govt to curb the entry and use of these substances began in the 1980s under the administration of then US Pres Ronald Reagan. Present policies are geared towards interdiction of drugs abroad and effective law enforcement at home. Studies indicate that there has been an overall decline in the use of controlled substances.
