The last good year: Canada changed forever in 1967

Canada was in the midst of economic prosperity and political and cultural changes during 1967. Pierre Trudeau was about to ascend to power, the stock market was thriving and the youth culture was challenging values. That year was also marked by Expo 67, one of the greatest expositions of all time.

Flashbacks to the beaches of hell; reliving the Dieppe disaster 50 years ago

Article Abstract:

An Allied force of 6,100 men attacked German-occupied Dieppe, France, on Aug 19, 1942. Of the 5,000 Canadians present, 3,367 were killed, wounded or taken prisoner. The slaughter was due to stupidity and tactical mistakes, which Canadian and British commanders tried to cover up.
