The poignant lament of Florence Turner

Florence Wright Turner, an 82-year-old retiree from Pickering, Ontario, is angry about France's Jan 1995, declaration that it would give diplomatic recognition to Quebec, if it becomes independent. Turner's father died from injuries suffered protecting France during World War I.

The recession has bankrupt many family firms, which represents a significant loss to society. Family businesses are usually more committed to their communities and employees than other businesses. The management of the family firm of Imperial Optical is discussed.

Will Paris decide Canada's future?

French Pres Jacques Chirac supports the sovereignty of Quebec and believes that about 40 French-speaking countries would recognize an independent Quebec. The support of France would give Quebec more power in the aftermath of the split.
