The silent plague

Article Abstract:

Diabetes is of two kinds type 1 and 2, where type 1, which has genetic origins, attacks the pancreas and destroys the cells that produce insulin compulsorily requiring the injection of insulin throughout life and even with treatment causing widespread organ damage. Cure for type 1 diabetes is still elusive but research and trials in cell transplants and growing stem cells as well as prevention of rejection of grafted cells has given hope that one day in the near future diabetes would be curable.
