The toaster effect

Article Abstract:

A movement is underway in Sydney and Melbourne to regulate architectural designs. A law is to be passed in Melbourne in Mar 1999, requiring developers to undertake detailed urban context reports for all new building projects. Construction is set to begin in Melbourne on the world's tallest building. The East Circular Quay "Toaster," nicknamed for its appearance, is nearly complete in Sydney Harbour.

Unsafe as houses

Article Abstract:

The house market is still subject to the practice of gazumping especially where the market favours the vendor such as Sidney, Australia. The real estate industry is feeling the pressure to stop this and other poor practices in 2001.
