American Eagle Outfitters Inc. have bought the Thriftys and Braemar clothing store chains from Dylex Ltd. The company expects to expand and have additionally 100 stores in the U.S. and 200 stores in Canada by next year.

Canadian Tire makes surprise Mark's Work Wearhouse bid

Canadian Tire Corporation Ltd. has made a surprise $116-million all-cash bid to acquire Mark's Work Wearhouse Ltd. Canadian Tire stated that the deal could generate annual savings of between $5-million and $7-million.
