Unions starting to make inroads at Wal-Mart

Article Abstract:

Organized labor has begun to make some surprising inroads at Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world's largest retailer but this has happened only in Canada where workers at a handful of stores appear tantalizingly close to winning first contracts. High employee turnover at Wal-Mart helps the retail giant keep out unions as disgruntled workers quit and it has been estimated that Wal-Mart must hire 500,000 to 600,000 workers a year just to keep existing stores open.
