Open Text sales to soar with deal for rival

Article Abstract:

Open Text Corp. agreed to buy German rival Ixos Software AG for about $230-million dollars, a deal that almost doubles the sales of the Waterloo, Ontario company and continues the consolidation that is spreading the business software market. Open Text officials believe that the merged company is a viable candidate to be among the two or three major players that dominate the enterprise content management software business.
