Very important planes

Article Abstract:

Seattle-based Boeing and Europe's Airbus Industrie are in fierce competition for sales of their new-generation business jets, the Boeing B737 Business Jet and the Airbus A319 Corporate Jetliner. Airbus is not announcing the price of it's plane, but the Boeing jet is selling for approximately $59 million. Both companies are in competition for Australian Prime Minister John Howard's business, joking he must keep up with Golfer Greg Norman who has recently ordered the Boeing. The RAAF executive fleet is due for replacement.

Article Abstract:

Issues relating to the cost-cutting exercises of Australian and New Zealand airline management are discussed. The decreased income of airline Quantas will be challenged by union-approved measures, according to the management, but the air pilot unions in both countries are nervous about the measures to be taken.

The only way is up

Article Abstract:

An airline expert believes that the best thing for the future of Australian airline, Ansett, was the grounding of its Boeing B767s airplanes. The airline has been forced to modernise its fleet and to update its operation to make it more competitive with Qantas and other, newer Australian airlines.
