When risk is spelt "Kaos"

Article Abstract:

Collaboration between Western Australia's theatrical and artistic agencies have been successful on some occasions and less successful on others. Kaos Theatre Australia used high technology provided by Fremantle's Deckchair Theatre but the innovative use of imagery did not necessarily create satisfying theater. Yirra Yaakin theatre Company has successfully dramatized aboriginal concerns. A collaborative effort between the Ballets Russes and Western Australia's Art Gallery has successfully showcased dance costumes at a time when the Ballets Russes is performing.

Court in a changing world

Article Abstract:

Barry Court, brother of Western Australia's premier Richard Court, is a farmer and politician whose organization is in discussion with numerous Aborigines about claims to their land. With more than 15 overlapping claims to lands in the area, there is criticism that Court and his farmers' organization have been trying to oversimplify the issue.

Paint the town red

Article Abstract:

The small town of Kellerberrin in Western Australia is host to a small shop where artists come to stay and to exhibit their paintings. Photographers, sculptors and video-based artists have made the town, hard hit by recession and rain, a center of culture in the middle of wheat fields.
