Peter Burwash, originally from Brockville, Ontario, is a successful tennis commentator and promoter. He says Canadian tennis players need more encouragement and better facilities to compete internationally. He cites the new Montreal, Quebec, tennis center as a step in the right direction.

The ageless lore of the long ball

Article Abstract:

Arthur Patterson popularized the expression 'tape-measure jobs' when referring to baseballs that are hit a long distance in home runs. He made the remark in 1953 after a home run hit by Mickey Mantle. The expression has been used since that time to denote very long distance hits.
