Bush's letter of 14 April 2004 to the Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon supports a secure future, both for Israel and the Palestinians, and strengthens prospects for peace in the Middle East. The president has the unmatched opportunity to implement his vision of Palestinian State by coordinating efforts of an old ally with that of a new one.
