Thriller writer Frederick Forsyth feels that the British Tories are deeply inspired by the Australian Prime Minister John Howard. He compares John Howard and British Conservative leader Duncan Smith and feels that the British voters may prefer an honest man like John Howard, who is perhaps a bit dull, to the sparkling person Tony Blair who is a liar.

Australian treasurer, Peter Costello, would present possibly his last financial budget, before he takes on the role of Prime Minister in 2006. Then main issue of the budget are notably the cuts to Medicare safety net, reductions to public funding for some medical treatments including IVF, and changes to disability pensions.
