"With my family behind me, I can't lose"

Article Abstract:

Russell Cosby was labeled 'slow' as a child, because he did not learn the way that other children did. It wasn't until he was well into adulthood that he discovered that he had dyslexia. His nephew, Ennis Cosby, also dyslexic, encouraged Russell to go to college and earn a degree. Ennis and Russell's famous brother, Bill Cosby, both helped Russell achieve his goal and find a way of learning that worked for him. After Ennis was murdered in 1997, the Cosby family began the Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation to help address learning differences and special education.
