Article Abstract:

A senior staff member of federal election Labor Party candidate Kim Beazley is to be investigated by the Australian Federal Police after the Liberal Party Web site was sabotaged. The staffer is accused of turning a blind eye. The junior staffer who seems to have done the hacking, based on e-mail messages telling how to hack into the site has been fired. Beazley characterized the actions as totally inappropriate. The title for Liberal party leader John Howard was altered as was that of federal Treasurer Peter Costello.
