Recent legislation affecting families

Article Abstract:

Numerous public laws affecting families were enacted recently. Public Law 102-243 prohibits a person to call another for solicitations using prerecorded voice or else he may be sued for damages. Public Law 102-250 gives the Interior Secretary more time to administer drought assistance. Public Law 102-273 deals with housing programs while Public Law 102-237 gives the farmers leeway with the farm's calculation of future yield. Public Law 102-242, on the other hand, allows the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation to loan Treasury funds for the improvement of the deposit insurance system.

Comments on Gordon Foxall: the marketing firm

Article Abstract:

A critique on Gordon R. Foxall's paper on the analysis of a marketing firm based on behavioral concepts is presented. While Foxall's adoption of a learning theoretic model contributes to the understanding of a particular area of economic activity, there three issues that require further clarification. These issues are: the role of informational stimuli, the influence of verbal rules and the specific nature of the discriminative stimuli that control the behavior of the marketing firm.
