DIY may soon lose its frills

Article Abstract:

Small superannuation funds, also called DIY funds have been permitted as long as the Insurance and Superannuation Commission determined there was a clear investment strategy, purchases were thought out, and managers did not stray from the rules. However, things could change with regulation of DIY funds now being administered from the tax office. The move could also cause changes in the definition of excluded funds.

The main reason for such growth is the growing number of people such as business owners, wealthy managers, retirees, and other who want to do their own investing. However, several governmental changes have been proposed, making these funds stricter and tighter.
