Don't be taken by surprise

Article Abstract:

The contents of the letter to investors in Hunter Hall Australian Value Trust written by Peter Hall, the fund manager, are discussed. Hall admits being caught unawares about the results of three small-cap companies, i.e., the printer and publisher PMP, biotechnology company Sirtex Medical and Kresta. The mistakes made by Hall are analyzed and it is concluded that there are many good small cap companies, which do not catch the market's fancy.
