Motor fund shifts gear

Article Abstract:

The MTAA Superannuation Fund set up in May 1989 for motor trade workers was opened to the public in 2002, attracting public servants in Canberra. In 2000, the fund changed direction and stopped investing in typical asset classes, splitting them into two different portfolios where 43% of the fund is invested in infrastructure and property and the other is invested in sharemarkets through index managers.

Upfront investor: super swings back

The returns on superannuation funds for the year ended 30th June 2004 seems to be good as compared to the previous year because the average for the year 2004 has increased by 13.2 percent against last years average of 0 percent. This is a long-term investment and those who have invested in this will definitely get the benefits of waiting for a long period.
