Poor returns on floats of 2005

Article Abstract:

An industry-wise analysis of the returns on investment from initial public offerings on Australian Stock Exchange during 2005 is discussed. Most of the sectors reported lower returns. However, there were a few exceptions like telecommunication services, media and health care equipment & services, which reported returns ranging from approximately 10% to 40%.

After one of the briefest share market corrections witnessed by the Australian Stock Exchange in the last 20 years, the stock markets are again northbound. The factors that are responsible for this resurgence are analyzed.
