A General Framework for Learning Curve Reliability Growth Models

Article Abstract:

System performance improves during prototype testing according to reliability growth models. Design changes are made, operating procedures and the environment are changed during this time. A general framework for predicting the ultimate performance is presented. Numerical trials indicate that this is difficult. Bayesian procedures are recommended. Results are presented graphically.

A Survey of Network Reliability and Domination Theory

Article Abstract:

A survey of the state of the art in network reliability is presented. Monte Carlo methods are not surveyed. Network problems are NP-hard and more difficult than standard combinatorial optimization problems. Linear and polynomial time algorithms for some network reliability problems do exist. Domination theory in network reliability is assessed. Diagrams of nets are included.

The Total Time on Test Concept and Its Use in Reliability Theory

Article Abstract:

Epstein and Sobel introduced the total time on test (TTT) concept thirty years ago. This concept has been generalized during the last ten years with the TTT-transform and the TTT-plot. They are useful in reliability studies. These generalizations are illustrated and their value explored. Graphs present various results and ideas.
