Economists and social planners are provided with some of the necessary biological background to evaluate strategies for biodiversity conservation. Biodiversity conservation inevitably competes with other social desires for land and water development, resource extraction, and recreation.

Location decisions of a polluting firm and the time consistency of environmental policy

Article Abstract:

The significant affect of environmental policy on the location decisions of polluting monopolist firms is analyzed. The applicability of emission tax levels determined either ex post, which is time consistent, or ex ante, which is precommitment, on monopoly firms, is discussed.
