Broadband: over power lines

Article Abstract:

The Telecommunications Act of 1996 mandated that broadband services be widely available in the United States but customers connect to the Internet either through local exchange carrier or local cable operator. Most of the customer looking to electric companies as a third competitive provider of broadband over power lines (BPL), BPL technology is ideal for true competition for broadband service, as it is incumbent upon regulators to adopt a uniform set of rules and regulations.
