Acquisitions shake up ethnic hair-care industry

Article Abstract:

June and July were marked by acquisitions in the hair-care industry. Five of the top seven manufacturers in the $1.2 billion ethnic hair-care industry were affected. Revlon bought New Rochelle, NY-based A.P. Products. L'Oreal acquired Chicago, IL-based Soft Sheen. Savannah, GA-based Carson bought Chicago,IL-based Johnson Products. The moves show that mass market competitors are beginning to recognize the importance of ethnic peoducts in the global marketplace.

Study Finds Scattered Successes for Molecular Modeling

Article Abstract:

A recent study by the WTEC panel on Applications of Molecular and Materials Modeling revealed that 100 research and development organizations are clusters of such groups focus on key research areas. The panel also found that Europe focuses on kinetics while other region's research is less publicized.
