EUROPE: EU SUBSIDIES FOR BETTER TYRE CONTROL

Article Abstract:

In an effort to control the quality of tyres already during the production process, the European Commission is subsidizing two research projects in which suppliers of raw material, producers, final customers, mechanical engineering companies and university institutes are involved. The first consortium "MINImum Default in RUbber COMpounding" (MINI DERUCOM) acts as scientific cooperator. "Better PROcess Description for Silica and Carbon Black Compounds" (PRODESC), the other consortium, is in charge of rheological tests and new extruder concepts for "green" rubber tyres. PRODESC targets to improve material analysis, develop a better rheometer for online control of the production process and prepare a quality assurance scheme.

Pharmaplan generates an annual turnover of around DM 100mn with the planning, building and servicing of production plants for pharmaceuticals and medical technology. Hatch is an engineering company with a turnover of US$ 180mn. *
