GERMANY: RESEARCH DEAL BY SCHWARZ, SCHERING

Article Abstract:

Schering AG of Berlin and Schwarz Pharma of Monheim are cooperating in the development of a therapeutic patch for gynaecological indications. Two pilot studies are being prepared. Schwarz Pharma has been working on therapeutic patches since 1983, developing the products for other firms. The company is to launch a therapeutic patch for Parkinson's disease by year 2004.

GERMANY: SCHWARZ PHARMA IN R&D DEAL

Article Abstract:

Together with the Neuro-Centre of the Freiburg University Hospital, Schwarz Pharma is working on the development of new active agents for the treatment of neuro-degenerative diseases. The Monheim-based pharmaceutical producer has the worldwide rights to any substances emerging from the project that has reached the stage of early pre-clinical studies.

GERMANY: MADAUS, SCHWARZ PHARMA IN UROLOGY JV

Article Abstract:

Hoyer-Madaus GmbH & Co KG has been set up in Monheim as a 50:50 joint venture of Madaus AG of Cologne and Schwarz Pharma. The new company will be active in the field of urology, in which the two pharmaceutical companies generated a turnover of DM 70mn in 1998.
