POLAND: LURGI WINS GLIMAR REFINERY JOB

Article Abstract:

Rafineria Nafty "Glimar" SA in Poland has placed a contract with German Lurgi Ol-Gas-Chemie for the turn-key construction of a "hydro complex" in Gorlice. The contract is worth EUR 80mn. The isocracking and isodewaxing/isofinishing technologies were licensed by Chevron. The project includes also the construction of a hydrogen production facility and acid gas wash. The new Glimar facility will produce mainly basic oils for the production of lubricants and pharmaceutical oils. Start-up is scheduled for the end of 2004.

GERMANY: NEW ORDERS BIO DIESEL PLANT FROM LURGI

Article Abstract:

Natural Energy West GmbH (NEW) has placed an order for the construction of a bio diesel production plant in German Marl with German Lurgi Life Science GmbH of Chemnitz and Frankfurt. The plant is to be designed for a capacity of 100,000 t of bio diesel and 12,000 t of raw glycerin per year. The new plant is to take up operation at the beginning of March 2002.

SPAIN: LURGI WINS BASF-SONATRACH JOB

Article Abstract:

BASF-Sonatrach-PropanChem SA has placed a contract with Lurgi for the construction of the world's biggest propane dehydration (PDH) plant in Tarragona. EUR 200mn will be spent on the 350,000-tpy facility that will be based on the Oleflex technology of UOP. The plant will be built between July 2000 and mid-2002.
