A new study examines the effect of octyldodecyl neopentanoate on the performance of sunscreen products. The researchers concluded that octyldodecyl neopentanoate, which has beneficial emollient properties, has a significant role to play in the development of sunscreen formulations.

Photostability testing of avobenzone

Article Abstract:

Photostability studies usually involve the examination of the photochemical degradation of a specific chromophore and most research focuses on the analytical measurement of the degradation of sunscreen agents. This study attempts to duplicate real sun exposure to significantly determine the phostability of sunscreen drug products.
