US: SWISS CONTRACTS FOR SYMIX

Article Abstract:

Ciba has signed a second research and development and licence agreement with Symix Technologies Inc. The US company is to develop more efficient and less expensive syntheses for the production of additives. Separately, Symix has been contracted by another Swiss company, Lonza, to develop new catalysts for intermediate products. Beside the initial and milestone payments, the US company will get royalties on the sales of compounds produced with the new catalysts.

GERMANY/US: AGREVO, 3DP RESEARCH ALLIANCE

Article Abstract:

Hoechst Schering AgrEvo has signed an agreement to cooperate with 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals Inc. (3DP) of Exton, US. The German partner will use the US company's DirectDiversita technology and technical compound libraries in the development of agrochemicals. AgrEvo will have the right to market exclusively the molecules resulting from the research.

Switzerland: Ciba licences Janssen light stabilisers

Article Abstract:

Janssen Pharmaceuticals N.V. has granted Ciba Specialty Chemicals (CSC) an exclusive licence for two reactive light stabilisers for resins for Europe and the Americas. Norbloc 7966 and Norbloc 6000 will be sold as Tinuvin 796 and Tinuvin R600.
