Vitamin A skin penetration

Article Abstract:

Vitamin A and its various forms are fortified into cosmetic products due to their pharmacodynamic capabilities, which boost correct skin metabolism and maintain the skin's excellent condition. The effectiveness of Vitamin A in improving the skin condition of users of dermatologic applications and cosmetics, however, is dependent on the degree of Vitamin A absorption by users' skin. The appropriate selection of a vehicle for the skin's Vitamin-A absorption is crucial to optimize the pharmacodynamic benefits offered by Vitamin A.

Recent advances in treating excessively curly hair: cationic polyamines and starch hydrolysates

Article Abstract:

Excessively curly hair requires specially formulated products and special handling, unlike those for Caucasian hair. By 1965, Johnson Products Co. introduced an innovative product that permanently straightens hair for African Americans. Childrey and Doty introduced a hair-relaxer cream in 1962 for Summit Labs. Various other products have been introduced since then, including one by Revlon, which proved gentler to the hair and scalp but was not as effective.
