Belief in universal ethics: gender differences, influence of referent others, and ethical beliefs of business professionals

Article Abstract:

This article examines the differences between male and female business professionals regarding their beliefs about business ethics. The authors, analyzing results from a survey given to both male and female professionals, conclude that very little correlation exists between ethical beliefs and gender.

The concept of meaningful work, one topic of business ethics that has been neglected, is studied and connected with the concept of meaningful life. The need for a theory of meaningful work is stressed by connecting it with other business ethics concepts.
