A map of the network society

Article Abstract:

Governments can promote the adoption of the Internet and allow its benefits to be enjoyed by a broader sector of society by encouraging investment and competition. This will help their citizens communicate with the rest of the world right in their own home communities, allowing them to be more productive and to profit from this productivity as they market their goods and services to the global economy. Those countries which discourage use of the Internet do not only deprive their people of the opportunity to join the world community, but also relegate themselves to second-rate status.
