American identity and the mechanisms of everyday whiteness

Article Abstract:

Findings related to attitudes about democracy and American identity, are described. Mechanisms that reinforce adherence to narratives expressed through beliefs by the Whites, are given, and to maintain and reproduce racialized structures of inequality are the functions of these mechanisms.
