Circular on strengthening the work of preventing and treating atypical pneumonia at township enterprises

Article Abstract:

A circular dated April 22, 2003, issued by the Ministry of Agriculture to its subordinate township and village enterprise bureaus at provincial levels calls for them to implement atypical pneumonia or severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) prevention and treatment work among their cadres and employees nationwide. The township enterprises are required to strengthen publicity and education regarding SARS prevention and treatment and establish rigorous and effective monitoring mechanisms.

Urgent circular on adopting effective measures for preventing and treating SARS in the rural areas

Article Abstract:

An urgent circular issued by the State Grain Bureau on May 16, 2003, provides guidance to all grain bureaus in order to help in the prevention and treatment of SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) in the rural areas. Subordinate units are instructed to disinfect public facilities of grain purchase, storage and transport, provide preventive equipments and drugs to employees and cadres, and take extra precaution with regard to employee travel to and from epidemic areas.

The effective precautions, carried out by various localities to prevent the transmission and spread of the atypical pneumonia or severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), are presented. One of these measures includes the implementation of a First-Reporting Award System in Jiangxi.
