Dutch doubts

Article Abstract:

Keen observers of European affairs feel that the Dutch assuming rotating presidency of the European Union will not work to the Union's advantage as their own domestic worries clash with the Union's tasks. The Dutch for long wanted to be treated as important members of the Union because they were one of the founder countries but never made an effort to be part of an influential group within the Union.

Changing face of protest

Article Abstract:

The modern protest movement is impeded due to improvements in police crowd-control tactics and intelligence gathering, and new legal measures that reduce the economic impact of protest and contain violent attackers. A discussion on the changing face of protest moverukments in the 21st century from simple placard waving to sophisticated, internet-based campaigns is presented.
