Repeating history: denazification, de-Stalinization, and the reworking of the past

Article Abstract:

The article examines the similarities between the 90s process of de-Stalinisation and the post-World War II process of denazification. De-Stalinisation is following denazification by oversimplifying East German history and focusing on the crimes of the state security police the Stasi. Criminal charges are being conducted against all members of the Stasi before due consideration of the correct political and social system which should replace the old one. Resulting xenophobia and political fundamentalism threatens democracy.

Thinking about strategy in a dark time

Article Abstract:

The conventional utopian vision of the Leftist parties such as radical democracy, requires replication to prevent the disintegration of the Left political force. The Leftist parties have lacked committment to a proper program and need to define a New Left strategy that transcends short-term needs through a specific strategy of progress. A framework to enhance the unity of the activists, the organizers, and the intellectuals, should offers opportunity for sharing of knowledge, mutual criticism, inspiration and support.
