Glimmer of hope

Article Abstract:

The election in the mid of June, in 2005 of Donald Tsang as Hong Kong Chief Executive has given a hope that the difficult years since Britain returned the territory to China in the year 1997 might end. Tung Chee-hwa's resignation from the post in March 2005 that is two years before the end of his second five-year term, announced the first leadership change since the transition and this change matters to China because of Hong Kong's economic and political importance.

Taiwan and China: Strait talking
